not sure if MX or 8.5 can do it. check the docs if you have an earlier
for fading you could modify the blend property

'picture' is outdated and has been superseded by 'image':
member("bitmap").image = _movie.stage.image
You can find a set of Dissolve behaviors in a demo movie with source code at http://nonlinear.openspark.com/tips/imaging/dissolve/. To fade out the image, simply place bitmap sprite with one of these behaviors on an otherwise empty frame, and navigate to that frame. The behavior will grab the image of the previous frame and gradually fade it out.
thanks for your replies, can I tell director to save the image grabbed as a cast member
this doesnt seem to work for me, I have a film loop which is a bunch of images fading from one to the other, what I want to do is that; when the user decides to click and go forward in the movie, it will fade from whichever image is on the screen by capturing whatever is on the stage and fading it out ...
hope this makes sense
you can do this without even writing a line of code.
just use a transition, you will find two little arrows in the top right hand corner of your score click on these to expend the score up.
then simply place a transistion (3rd line from the top) over the frame your jumping to (wont work if you put it over the frame your jumping from)
hope this helps
if you need to do it by code let me know and ill see what i can do for you
thanks for the idea, will give it a go....can't believe I forgot all about that
