External Style Sheets and new items

    Level 7
      Hello,

      I'm learning DW8 and I've created a site and created my index.html.
When I create a new layer or change the page properties (or create any
new object it seems) I was expecting it to put the associated CSS code
into the external CSS file. Instead DW8 keeps putting the style code
      directly into the index.html file.

I've manually moved everything to the external CSS file and it "works"
properly when previewing in DW or browsers. The page has the
appropriate link to the external CSS file but DW8 still keeps adding
new CSS code to the index.html file instead of the external CSS file
I've defined. Is this just how DW8 works or have I done something
wrong? If so what? How can I correct it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if this is expected behavior or what the problem
          might be?

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

          Thanks!

            It's expected behavior.

I could be wrong, since I always edit my CSS files in Topstyle (I have
it selected as my CSS editor in DW), but AFAIK DW will create styles
directly in your document whenever you change things via the Property
Inspector. It's best to get into the habit of making your changes
directly in the style sheet (and be sure the changes get saved). Hope
              this helps.
