1. Re: Canon spanned clips - problem with Premiere CC 2014 v 8.1 (and NOT in CC v 7.2.2)
manfredhaider Oct 14, 2014 2:26 PM (in response to manfredhaider)I checked also to export via Media Encoder.
The "single" clips are fine.
The spanned clip is a still picture in the final video.
Only in CC 2014 v 8.2
All clips are exported correctly in CC v 7.2.2

Mark Mapes Oct 16, 2014 12:37 AM (in response to manfredhaider)First of all, just to clarify one point, the version release 10 days ago is 8.1; there is no version 8.2. If you have a version that says it's 8.2, we'd be interested in seeing a screenshot of the About box.
Several other customers have reported similar problems, though none specified that the issue is exclusive to spanned content--that could be a major clue.
Last time I checked, two users posted in the first of these threads that clearing their preferences resolved the issue.

3. Re: Canon spanned clips - problem with Premiere CC 2014 v 8.1 (and NOT in CC v 7.2.2)
manfredhaider Oct 21, 2014 1:55 AM (in response to Mark Mapes)Version is 8.1...seems I misstyped...
None of your suggested threads helped to solve my problem. Tried it, didnt work.
---
And by the way: Thank you for suggesting looking at threads where users need help and Adobe either
- gives no feedback at all for 13 (!!!) days like your 3rd suggestion (forums.adobe.com/thread/1597208)
- or asks for system specs and does not report back after all like your 5th suggestion (forums.adobe.com/thread/1501846)
Irony OFF!
What should I do with such threads? Read it and have empathy with other users having the same issues as I have?

4. Re: Canon spanned clips - problem with Premiere CC 2014 v 8.1 (and NOT in CC v 7.2.2)
Mark Mapes Oct 21, 2014 11:37 AM (in response to manfredhaider)Please bear in mind that this is a user-to-user forum.
I am a member of the product development team, not the technical support staff. A few colleagues and I do our best to stay on top of the traffic here--largely on our own time. My principal reason for investing time here is to learn about problems our customers are encountering so I can make sure the top issues are documented in our bug database (as I did in this case).
For direct aid from Adobe, please contact the official support channel: Contact Customer Care.

5. Re: Canon spanned clips - problem with Premiere CC 2014 v 8.1 (and NOT in CC v 7.2.2)
RobSher1 Oct 21, 2014 12:41 PM (in response to Mark Mapes)I have a similar issue with XF305 spanned clips in a sequence mixed with 5dMarkIII and old SD DV footage running very slowly intermittently on 8.1. I had worked case 186016889 this weekend for this issue and the engineer renamed the following folders to _old and PR recreated them. I'm running on Win 7 Pro latest SP, i7 920, 48 GB RAM and Nvidia GTX 480.
%appdata%\Adobe\Premiere Pro to %appdata%\Adobe\Premiere ProLibraries\Documents\Adobe to Libraries\Documents\Adobe
This seemed to help for a while, but the nature of the slowdown has been from a few minutes to many hours. I did finally notice that I had up to three orphaned PR processes that were still doing I/O. Things get better now for a while after I kill the processes. I've seen other issues with the new version where edit audio in Audition doesn't refresh the waveform after an Audition save and removed and reinstalled PR last night because the edit audition of the next clip overwrote that audio with the previous clips file.
So I have a fresh/clean install and it's still intermittently leaving orphaned processes and running slow. I think I can get it to happen consistently when I send the audio to Audition, but I'm doing an export now so I can go back to the previous version. I'll do a quick test to see if it's consistent before I downgrade so I can re-due the last three days work.
