Inferior product? It's 99% the same (there's no Lightroom mobile unless you subscribe to CC)
But once Lightroom 6 is released, the CC version will provide that for you automatically and at no extra charge over your monthly fee; however if you own Lightroom 5 standalone version, you now have an inferior product unless you choose to purchase Lightroom 6.
Adobe seems to have indicated that Lightroom will continue to be supported as a standalone product. But business plan's change. And, as soon as Lightroom 6 is released, Lightroom 5 will no longer be supported by Adobe.
You can purchase Lightroom 5 as a stand alone product with a perpetual license key. The latest info from Adobe is that they will continue to make Lightroom available in this format for the foreseeable future.
Lightroom 5 is also available with the Creative Cloud Photographers package for $9.99 per month (includes PS CC 2014 and Lightroom). This does not come with a license key but will be activated by the Creative Cloud Application Manager. This has to be downloaded through the Application Manager.
If you discontinue the monthly subscription the Develop Module will no longer be available for doing further edits on your photos.
Question: Am i getting an inferior product if I do that?
No. Both have the same functions.
Hi folks and thanks for the replies.
I've got the standalone without CC, thanks again..
