bogiesan Oct 15, 2014 3:37 PM (in response to AE Chroma-key)You have google? So do I but it's going to be better if you learn how to find effects and presets on your own.
There are about a hundred really good AE tutorial sites. At leaf a thousand really bad ones. Try video copilot for starters. Also just go to vimeo and search for AE tutorials.

3. Re: Image/text falling on the ground ( dust/sand impact )
Rick Gerard Oct 15, 2014 3:46 PM (in response to AE Chroma-key)This is nothing more than a multi layered composite with one layer being the background footage, the other being the debris from the impact, and the final layer being the falling logo. The hard part is the timing of the animation. Stock footage or a particle effect could be used to generate the dust. A moving camera in the original footage would mean that you have to do some camera tracking or some plain tracking to make the logo stick to the ground. If you want to add shadows and multiple kinds of debris and dust then you need more layers. The last option would be to animate the logo falling in a 3D app and add the dust and particles there, then render the image sequence and composite it into AE.
What is you level of experience? What does the background shot look like? Maybe we can point you in the right direction if we knew a little more about your background footage and your experience level.

4. Re: Image/text falling on the ground ( dust/sand impact )
AE Chroma-key Oct 15, 2014 5:03 PM (in response to Rick Gerard)I'm a beginner but fast leaner, I have learned some stuff with tutorials,I also googled for the tutorial but couldn't find it. See the logo attached, the squares with the letters ,I want to make an impact by having them falling into the ground, and once it hits the ground, make it shake and sand, or dust, lifts up from it .... I did look on YouTube and googled it but no luck. Hope I can get help here.
Thanks again.

Mylenium Oct 15, 2014 11:04 PM (in response to AE Chroma-key)Read up on using Fractal Noise and a bunch of animated parameters or buy some stock footage of dust clouds and smoke puffs.

AE Chroma-key Oct 16, 2014 1:39 AM (in response to Mylenium)That's not what I'm looking for, I googled Fractal Noise as u said. What I am.looking for is a tutorial on.how to make the logo fall from the sky into the ground, making an impact and when it hits the ground, the dust lifts up and the logo/ground shakes

AE Chroma-key Oct 16, 2014 12:05 PM (in response to AE Chroma-key)wow, noone can help me on this ?
I am looking for a tutorial similar to this, but with the sand/dust effect as the logo hits the ground : 3D Falling Logo - After Effects Template - YouTube

8. Re: Image/text falling on the ground ( dust/sand impact )
bogiesan Oct 16, 2014 12:25 PM (in response to AE Chroma-key)The logo layer falls.
The ground layer has a particle system or fractal noise applied it. You modify the particles or fractal till it looks like dust or smoke. Then you figure out how to make it explode or emit on cue. There are dozens of tutorials on the pieces. I don't think anyone is going to do this footwork for you. It's just not that difficult to deconstruct and rebuild this effect. But try these guys for some free tutorials, there are about 250 that you can wade through. Most of them will asist you in learning how to use advanced effects such as particles and fractals as well as cameras, inertia, momentum, and other animation basics:

AE Chroma-key Oct 16, 2014 1:17 PM (in response to bogiesan)I will look into it, i did find this :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uapnpYvJf9w
i think it's more or less what i am looking for, i can always add the sand/dust effect by watching a new tutorial, i am very new but a fast learner, so happens that i need to have this logo effect done for next week, so i thought maybe jump into the tutorial since i am already familiar with the AE workspace.
