Does your computer have a SD slot or will you be using a SD Reader attached to the computer with USB?
Add Media
Videos from Flip or Cameras
Video Importer
your card with its drive letter needs to be recognized and seen in the Source: field at the top of the Video Importer.
If any problems, try the Refresh.
Note the options and set accordingly, and, when ready, click on Get Media to "Add to Timeline" or just save in the Save In location in the
Video Importer dialog.
Also do not overlook the choice of you setting the project preset manually or the project setting it automatically before you Add Media/

Many thanks for replying and for the link (something like that is overdue!).
One PC has a built-in reader and the other does not. I will probably need to get an external reader and someone on an AV forum has recommended 32Gb Class10 standard size (not micro) memory cards, so I will need a reader that recognises those memory cards.
