AMF RemoteObject with CF and Gzip on IIS6

I have a cairnogram Flex application that is returning 80k per data call from my Cold Fusion CFC's. The Flex app is using remote Object. Examining the AMF packet I was surprised that i could read the contents in clear text with Etheral. I had read that AMF is a binary protocol that uses compression. I did not expect to read the servers response in the packets.

Can someone confirm if AMF should be compressed and if there are any sites which explain how i could set IIS6 up to use gzip to compress the AMF data?

Is there anyway I could compress the AMF calls further?

      Thanks in advance,
