Unfortunately, there is currently no support for moving individual drawings from one project to another. You can reorder drawings within a project but not move them across projects. The ability to move drawings across projects is currently on our list of potential improvements in a future release.
Hope that helps,
Thanks Frank, I came here looking for the same feature. It would be very welcome (especially after the kids have got hold of it!).
Can we just get an "import" for a vector file? It seems that you are doing everything to avoid that for proprietary reasons. Please don't - it has not worked in the past.
A year has passed since you wrote this response and the ability to move drawings among projects—or to merge projects—is still vaporware. And a different promised feature—being able to save/export as PDFs in Draw (instead of sending to Illustrator first)—is also vaporware. it see,s like the backlog of features is not moving—which may lead to customers moving on to, say, Compass. Please forward our frustration on to the middle-managers. Thanks.
Would also like to move files into a different project on the app... i didnt realize that things were organized by projects and now i have a bunch of individual drawings that should be in one project.... I will have to re draw them or live with the messy files on my ipad which i hate! I would like to add some of the randm drawings i created to a single "project" seems pretty straight forward... : /
It's possible to move drawings to other projects in the iOS version of Draw. It sounds like you're using that most recent version of Draw, but just to check before giving you instructions about how to move your work, a couple of questions:
What device are you using?
What version of Draw are you using? Is it this one Adobe Illustrator Draw on the App Store (v4.0.2)?
Let me know and I'll walk you through the steps.
HI Sue thanks for the reply, Yes i am using illustrator draw 4.0.2. I am using iPad pro. I also use a mac computer. Thanks so much.

Here's how to move a canvas from one project to another:
In the Organizer view (where you can see all your projects), tap on the project that contains the document you want to move.
Then tap the Ellipsis (...) icon
From the pop-up menu choose Select Documents. At that point the top nav will change to orange and in the lower nav you'll have three icon choices: (Trash) a garbage can, (Duplicate) two squares with a +, and (Move Document) a document with an arrow.
Tap on the document you want to move (it will be highlighted in orange)
Then, from the lower nav, tap the Move (document with an arrow) icon
That will bring up a menu with a choice of places to move the drawing.
One thing: There was a bug in the previous version of the app, that when moving a single-drawing project to another project (which it sounds like you have a lot of), the drawing being moved would be deleted. The app's since been updated, and the bug fixed (it's working fine now as far as I know) but if you could start your "moving" with a test project, I'd feel a lot better about it.
Let me know how things go.

I am on version 4.02 but after I select a document I only get the trash can or the + to duplicate, no move document... Any ideas?
Make sure you're selecting a drawing and not a project (if you select a project you'll only get the trash can and duplicate icons).
Let me know if that's still not clear.
When I go to the drawing (rather than the project) I no longer see the eclipse ... I am also trying to rearrange drawings into a shared project.
I'm a bit confused about what you mean by no longer seeing the "eclipse." Can you give me a bit more detail about that?
Also, are you trying to move drawings into a project? Or trying to rearrange drawings that are already in a project?
And, one more thing, what version of the app are you using? (Tap the Settings icon, then About Draw.)
Let me know.

You can now do this by:
1. Entering the project that houses the drawing you want to move.
2. Hit the three dots icon to the top right to enter edit mode.
3. Choose "select documents" and select all the drawings you want to move.
4. Hit the bottom right icon of a document with a send arrow and select the destination project from the list.
(this is where the benefits of a good naming conventions may become apparent, so organize your stuff!)
If the old project is emptied you are asked if you would like to delete it after step 4.
Finally this option is live!
When I follow these steps it just lumps the two projects together but not in the same project or page.. They’ still separate. How do I get them on the same page from different projects?
It's only possible to move drawings from one project to another; it's not actually possible to combine drawings. Is that what you were hoping to be able to do.
Please let me know because I'm not sure I"m correctly understanding what's not working.
I am trying to move a drawing from one project to another. When I follow the steps laid out the two drawing don't merge to go into one project. Instead they become two separate projects but are now bucketed into a project.
My work around has been to save a project as an image with no background then insert it as an image layer into another project. The problem there is that I can't erase when the images overlap.
I'd like to be able to merge the two projects so they are actually on one project. The current solution doesn't allow that so that I can then manipulate layers for what used to be two independent projects but now are one or erase certain lines when, in the drawing, one image overlaps another so that the lines don't appear. Hope that makes sense?
I'm sorry, it's not possible to combine two separate drawings to create a single drawing. But, if you're using the iOS version of Draw, you can move layers from one drawing to another so you can combine the content that way (which sounds like it might work for you).
Please let me know if you're using the iOS version of the app and I'll walk you through the steps of sharing layers between drawings.
That would be great! Yes, I am using the iOS version of the app?
Do you know if there are plans (or can we make a suggestion) to have this function in the future?
I'm certain the ability to combine drawings isn't being considered for Sketch, but what I'm not sure about is whether it's being considered for Project Gemini (Introducing Project Gemini | Adobe Blog).
In the meantime, hopefully drag-and-drop layers will be something that will work for you. Here's how to do that (make sure you're on at least iOS 11); I use two hands:
* Tap the layer you want to move.
* Once it’s outlined, press-hold-and drag it to the center of the canvas. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FINGER OFF THAT LAYER.
* If you only want to move that one layer, with your other hand, tap "Close" in the upper left nav (still without releasing that layer that you have your finger on).
* If the drawing you want to copy the layer to is in the same project, tap on it. If it’s in another project tap "Close" again to see more of your projects.
* Once you’re in the drawing you want to copy the layer to... release it.
Note: If you want to move other layers, just tap them while continuing to hold on the first one you chose.
Let me know if you have trouble.
That worked! Exactly what I needed. Thanks!!
Great! Thanks for letting me know.
