    CS5 in Yosemite problems loading

    Top Skittler Community Member

Anyone got any ideas why, since I installed Yosemite on my iMac, Photoshop CS5 won't load. It starts, but hen I get an error window and it quits.

I have uploaded the Java update.

The message I get is this!

Yep. Sorry to say... same problem here, and I've noticed a multitude of others have it, too. Am hoping for an answer from Adobe or Apple but may give up the will to live if it doesn't happen soon.

I've had to buy the photographer CC bundle for £8 a month, hoping that it will be fixed before I spend too much! I fear the problem is with Java, as I had a window come up telling me to update. I seem to remember there was a similar problem with Mavericks. Sadly, I can't remember what had to be done then!

              A SOLUTION...

Chums, this may not work for everyone, but I attempted it as a last resort... and it worked. Now all my CS5 applications are working beautifully again.

Return to your original installation CDs for CS5 (whether it be Design Standard like mine, or any of them...) If you don't have it available, return to Adobe's site and redownload the Disk Image for CS5.

              Run the installer.

              Select only Photoshop to install.

The installer will overwrite the existing installation and - voila - Photoshop CS5 runs under Yosemite.

A footnote: I have not run the Adobe Updater to see if Adobe wishes to update anything since my reinstallation of Photoshop... and I don't think I intend to lest I find myself in the same position again. But this worked for me, so I hope it works for you, too!
