same problem. solutions?
I have the same issue, very frustrating, would love a suggestion to help solve it
The first thing I would do is to stop using the LR catalog in the DropBox sync folder, if that is where you are using it from.
Copy the LRCAT file from the dropbox sync folder to some other location; use the catalog at the other location; copy it back to the dropbox sync folder.
Sounds like Dropbox is modifying the image files, like changing the timestamps or updating some metadata, leading LR to think the updated files are different images instead of being the same ones.
Thanks for the suggestion - I have done that and it solves the problem -
clearly Dropbox is doing something beneath the surface that causes
Lightroom to think the file has changed.
Whilst this solves the immediate problem it means that I can't share the
pictures in the way that I wish to do with Dropbox, and hence I would
really like to find a solution that allows LIghtroom and Dropbox to play
