After installing After Effects CC on MacBook Air (2012), AE starts but nearly all menu items are disabled. Specs of machine seem to be OK (OpenGL 2.1, 8GB RAM). Render Engine comes up immediately and items like New Composition are disabled. Looked at log and "<EAMountPoints> <0> Error: mount point list is empty" appears in the middle. CPU not on whitelist also mentioned. Does anyone have an idea? I searched around but didn't see anyone who had this resolved.
You are launching After Effects in render engine mode. Two causes for this:
1. You are double-clicking on the After Effects Render Engine icon in the application folder.
2. There is a file named ae_render_only_node.txt in your documents folder, as described here:
