Does allowing Adobe to install updates automatically mean it will also install unwanted software?

I have always clicked "Notify me to install updates" because I knew every time there is some kind of optional offer for Mcafee or Google that i don't want and need to uncheck. I get annoyed with having to manually install all the time but I'm not going to let them do it automatically if every time I will have new unwanted crap on my computer.

Does allowing automatic updates also include these optional offers or does it only install the actual update?

Anyone? I really want automatic updates but DO NOT want it to instal those optional offers like McCafee.
