Did it originate as vector art? If so, you should be able to right click on the file name, choose Illustrator to open it in, and it should be editable. There may be some masks you have to release or something, but you should definitely be able to edit it. Any luck since you posted?
Thanks for the quick response! But no, I opened it the same way you told me to and I know that this font being used for this logo was created specifically and isn't used anywhere else, so I assume it was originally a vector.
The whole image is on layer1,
It will not let me edit anything.
This is the InDesign forum. Please post in the Illustrator forum for Illustrator help.
You cannot change the contents of an EPS file in InDesign.
It doesn't sound like it's an actual object. I'm wondering if what you are trying to change was a raster image brought into Illustrator, then someone added to it, then saved it as an eps. Hard to know since i'm not looking at it. I'm sorry I can't be of more help! Did you try releasing all masks, compound paths, etc. ?
If the background is plain/solid, just cover it and make new text. InDesign isn't an EPS editor.
View it in outline mode in Illustrator. If it's just a box, it's a placed or raster image.
