However Audition 3 uses a slightly different way of collecting the audio. It is looking for ASIO drivers. If the audio interface manufacturer doesn't provide any then Audition has to use it's own built in converter to be able to use standard Windows WDM drivers. But the correct sample rate must be set the same in Audition, the soundcard and Windows (if you are using WDM drivers).
Edit. ASI do provide ASIO drivers so make sure that you select that as your source in Audition's Hardware setup page. See ASI's notes for setting up Audition 2 or higher.
