Network Setting conflict with BC in-browser editing?

    DerekDigital Community Member

I'm developing a site for a client in Adobe Muse which will be hosted on Adobe BC.

At the moment this is a trial site which expires in mid-November 2014.

About a month ago my client was able to log in, using his PC, and make initial text amendments using in-browser editing.

However he tried to make some more amends at the weekend, but now the in-browser editing doesn't seem to work.

      To summaries briefly what's happening:

He makes text edits, hits the [Publish] button, but instead of its colour changing from blue to clear - the button remains blue.

Anything he does in BC from that point onwards produces a warning dialog stating there are unsaved changes.

I've accessed the site using a desktop and laptop in my studio and can edit and publish text changes without any problem.

I took my laptop to my client's office yesterday, but encountered the same problem as he did at the weekend.

My initial thinking is that this conflict is perhaps being caused by his network settings or firewall settings.

As this is a huge subject area I wonder if anyone else has encountered a similar situation? If yes, how did you resolve it?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome

Nothing to do with that.. It will be something like...

          - Javascript turned off

          - What browser are they using? Is it an old IE (like IE7) as that is no longer supported in the admin, like many elements of the web.

          - Have they tried a different browser? do they have the same issue, different machine?

          - Have you seen them (screen share ) doing it, I ask this because I have had people say they do something or press a button but not actually do what they think they are saying.

My client is using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.

If you had read my post carefully, I clearly stated that "I took my laptop to my client's office yesterday, but encountered the same problem…"

So yes, we have the same issue on different machines.

My laptop runs OS X Yosemite and Safari 8.0, although I rebooted it using Windows 7 and tried Adobe BC with Chrome.

            The problem still persists.

Also I sat next to my client and watched him press the [Publish] button on his machine. I even tried it myself.

So again, in answer to your question, Yes, these things have been tested.

Sensible suggestions from now on please folks!

              Derek,

These are sensible questions to get out the way because what your asking is unlikely.

To check, since there has been admin issues with the latest safari that has only been just patched (which may still have some issues) you do not have any issues publishing on your mac, say right now?

Another, what may seem silly question but needs to be asked, because you are using Muse... You have the latest Muse version and you have turned on in the admin the syncing so your client can make changes but it fetches into Muse?

In terms of their office.. Have you asked and looked at the network setup? What is it... You assume it is that but provide no information about the environment.

                Hi Derek,

Do you have any errors in the JavaScript console? Could you open up a support ticket and have the support team look at the site?

                Thanks,

                Cristinel

                  Hi Cristinel,

                  Thanks for your reply.

The odd thing is that I can make changes to my client's site using Adobe BC on my MacBook Pro when I'm connected to my studio network, and my home network.

However the in-browser editing "Publish" button didn't work when I took the same laptop to my client's office and used their network.

This is the same problem they are experiencing using their desktop PC.

I'll do as you suggest and open up a support ticket.

                  Many thanks for the advice.

                  Derek

If I could block you from responding to my posts Liam, I would do.
