    Jpeg images not showing up

    Reese Richardson Community Member

In import I'm looking at a file that folder has 32 jpeg images out of 115 images they are RAW images the Jpeg images do not show up everything is RAW no Jpeg. In others file folders I can see the jpeg image just not this one.

Tried all no results what is wrong

What type of raw files are they? Are you using Copy in the import dialog? Are the jpegs identical e.g. you had the camera set to shoot raw+jpeg simultaneously?

What happens if you select all and then import the folder contents?

When you select a raw image does the metadata panel (see image) show sidecar files for Jpeg and XMP?

What I do I like bridge better so I shoot in Canon RAW CR2. So I import from the camera into Bridge work the images up in Adobe Photoshop in RAW and save the image as a jpeg using the lower left hand side of RAW after images have be corrected  . So out of 83 images that a RAW.  32 were saved as a jpeg but they do not show up when using Lightroom. When I looked at image in file folders that were shoot in jpeg not RAW all images show up.

Hope this makes sense, I use Lightroom to put image on my web site using Publish

It’s an unusual workflow and unless there is some conflict between metadata in Bridge and Lightroom the independently created jpegs should import.

              You could go to:

              Edit >> Preferences >> General

Put a checkmark against “Treat jpeg files next to Raw as separate photos” and then click OK.

If that makes no difference I suggest you move the jpeg files to a separate folder and import the raw folder and jpeg folders individually using Import >> Add

It will then be possible to drag images from each folder into a single Publish Service collection for uploading.

That works checked box jpeg show up now. Like the bigger screen in Photoshop RAW let me see what I'm doing should study the program more maybe I'd like it
