1. Re: I have a client asking for a "wildcard SSL certificate". How do I get one and how do I proceed?
Ryan Thomas Oct 22, 2014 10:32 AM (in response to CloverCreativeNH)You cannot install your own SSL certificate at this time. Catalyst comes with it's own free certificate which you view at yourCatalystSite.worldsecuresystems.com

CloverCreativeNH Oct 22, 2014 10:37 AM (in response to Ryan Thomas)Thanks Ryan,
Does that mean that the BC system already is set up for this and I just need to send the developer ourbcsitename.worldsecuresystems.com and that will be what they are looking for? Or do I need to host the site elsewhere?

CloverCreativeNH Oct 22, 2014 11:45 AM (in response to Ryan Thomas)Hi Ryan,
I am trying to confirm if I should be hosting this on BC or not, and the BC live chat is telling me it is not possible to do what we are looking to do. I apologize if it is a stupid question, but I am desperate for an answer here. Can you please help?

4. Re: I have a client asking for a "wildcard SSL certificate". How do I get one and how do I proceed?
Ryan Thomas Oct 22, 2014 12:05 PM (in response to CloverCreativeNH)Hi Clover,
If your client absolutely requires their own certificate.. something like https://yourdomain.com, then yes you will need to move to another solution. However, like I said, Catalyst does provide a free certificate, and for most it is more than acceptable. You need to provide us with more information.. Why does your client need a Wildcard SSL Certificate, are they looking to secure subdomains as well? Are they worried about security during checkout, is this an e-commerce site you're making?

5. Re: I have a client asking for a "wildcard SSL certificate". How do I get one and how do I proceed?
CloverCreativeNH Oct 22, 2014 12:08 PM (in response to Ryan Thomas)Thank you!!! Here is what is going on. We are setting up a site at "doughnation.fund" At this site you will be able to shop deals from different retailers. We are using the site azigo.com for the store aspect. Azigo is essentially "whitelabeling" their whole site for us. So when a visitor to "doughnation.fund" clicks on the shop now button, it will take them to "azigo.com/shopnow". However what they are saying they can do for us if we can provide a wildcard SSL certificate is the can change the url to "doughnation.fund/shopnow" allowing for a perceived seamless transaction. They may accomplish it through a subdomain, but that is basically situation we are facing and why I am looking for the wildcard SSL certificate that they requested. Does that help.
Thank you again in advance!!

6. Re: I have a client asking for a "wildcard SSL certificate". How do I get one and how do I proceed?
Ryan Thomas Oct 22, 2014 12:41 PM (in response to CloverCreativeNH)Yes that helps.. I don't think that Catalyst is your best solution at this time. Since you will be using their site as the storefront, you could use just about any CMS out there. The problem with Catalyst is that it is software as a service, and as such we do not have full control over it (I would not be able to install MySQL on the server etc etc). Likewise we can't install our own SSL certificates at this time. That being said there are a ton of advantages to using Catalyst (not having to worry about system updates, and a ton of the work is done for you).

CloverCreativeNH Oct 22, 2014 1:33 PM (in response to Ryan Thomas)Thank you Ryan,
That is a bummer. I will be the one doing the updating so not going through BC will be a pain, but I understand. Thanks again for your help.
