Yesterday I installed the latest version of LR onto my 12 month old iMac running Mavericks (with over 800 GB of free disk space) and LR says it can't read the files when i try to import photos from my Nikon D600 (either from the camera or direct from the card)
I downloaded LR and PS in my principal user ID on the Mac, and although I can still import photos into iPhoto, I can't into LR
If I go into the administrators ID, it will then let me import....?
Anyone help? - I don't have the computer set up the way I like it in my admin ID so it's not a solution to just stay in there and besides no-one else in the family would be able to use LR or PS unless they use my ID so not a solution
Can't read the files indicates that the destination directory (the one set in the Destination panel of the Import dialog box) is pointing to a folder that does not have write access. So you need to make a note of what directory it is pointing to and change it to have WRITE permission.
But I didn't have to do that when i was in "administrator" sign in?
I'm not very knowledgeable about Macs, but I'm guessing that administrators have write permission to everything, while if you log in as not an admin, then you don't have write permission to the destination folder.
