While publishing did you make any changes to publish paths? Can you let us know what is the publish option which you chose?
I get this error on a regular basis. Closing the comp and reopening it corrects the problem for me. It seems to save the change even though the error message occurs.
It seems like when anything changes in the comp - like deleting an image on the stage and adding a image causes the unsupported path error to occur.
I am not sure whether this is the exact same error as mentioned here but it is similar enough.
resdesign, that is a Great point, I have had that issue also with earlier versions, and corrected them as you point out,
However, this test file I created contains no images, I just opened Adobe Edge, them selected "Create New" then added text and animated the text, when I select "Preview in browser" is when I get the error message. It also shows up if I just select "Create New" and then " Preview in Browser"
Could you post a link to your test file to see if I get the same error?
I opened a current file that someone else created earlier, I closed the created file, and then deleted the file from my hard drive, I then open the test and selected "Preview in browser" I got errors where edge was looking for files from the files I just deleted from my hard drive . I then opened the text box and closed it and saved the file, Now it works. I do not know where this error came from or how it got fixed.
Will try to repro this on our side. Will keep you posted.
This has more to do with safari rather than Edge Animate. For time being Users can try on Chrome( Issue will not occur on Chrome) while we come up with fix/work around.
is there any where I can send you the file or post a zip file, that gives me the errors?
seconding this. I was coming to ask about the exact same solution, previewing in Safari.
I tested Firefox, and Chrome and Safari, the issue seems to be with Safari, For the time being, I will use Chrome or Firefox with the new Adobe Edge, preview. Thank you!

The patch (EA 2014.1.1) with the fix is live now.
Edge Animate Team
I am seeing this same problem too... with the most recent update to EA...
which just recently started appearing for me.
I am using EA2014.1.1 which I originally installed on my computer at the end of Nov 2014
I also tried Edge Animate v1.5 and the same message appeared.
Does anyone know where this error is coming from?
There has been a number of posts concerning this issue. I am not sure this has been addressed yet. However, in my experience it does not mess up anything and I have simply been ignoring it when it happens. I am sure this is not the best but it has not affected any of my work and I create a large number of compositions.
So far the answer has been do not use Safari, The error does not show up in Chrome

if you are using Adobe Creative Cloud, Please try these steps, do this while using Safari as your default browser.
1. Open the Creative Cloud menu and select "Apps"
2. Scroll down to find "Edge Animate CC (2014)
3. make sure the "Up to date" has a green check mark
4. Select the "Up to date" to open Edge Animate from the Creative Cloud menu
5 once Edge is open, select "File" and then "Open" or "Open Recent" to open the file that has been returning the error
6. select "Preview In Browser" from the menu or using your quick keys
the error should not show up,
now you should be able to go directly to the file and open it and preview the file and the error should not show up
hope this works
Sorry to say... Edge Animate CC 2014.1.1 does NOT fix the problem. Yes, I have the latest EA installed. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EA software plus wiped out the preferences. Yes, I know using a browser other than Safari will not display the problem. It is my choice of browsers. I am just hoping that Adobe will fix the annoying error message not think that it has been fixed.
Steps 4 thru 6, for some odd reason, when I open Edge Animate from the Creative Cloud menu, the problem goes away.
I just started experiencing this issue myself. It happens in all projects, even a new and completely empty one.
The solution provided by perez28 is not working for me. Is there a way to change the browser Edge Animate uses for previewing without changing the default browser of the system?
This whole problem is just a previewing issue on Safari, when using the local server through the instant preview feature of Adobe Edge Animate.
What happens is that Safari expects a fancy predesigned icon at the root level from the web server, the one you'd get when creating a bookmark, favorite, or app-like icon of the visited webpage. But somehow the (non) existence of this icon at the local web server gets messed up. Probably because the prefix "/" goes to the root of your computer in stead of the root folder containing the web files. And also because Apple implemented this iconic feature in a bit awkward way into Safari... More useless info: https://mathiasbynens.be/notes/touch-icons
But this all holds no problem for the final work, and it should be addressed by Adobe's Edge Animate developers. No need to tweak any code or setting from the user's side. For the time being, let's just hit "OK" now and then and be happy !
