3. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
RSVlabs Oct 24, 2014 9:08 PM (in response to Vinod Menon@Adobe)I managed to restore to Mavericks, and it worked great. However, a side note. I did run Yosemite beta candidates 1 + 2 and Edge Animate CC worked fine. Once the public version was released, was when problems occurred.

4. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
nathandrobinson Oct 25, 2014 9:43 AM (in response to Vinod Menon@Adobe)Looking forward to hearing a response as well--same issues, starting with the bounding boxes disappearing from the artwork in the Animate files, then the unknown error prompting to save and restart within 5 minutes (which, incidentally, prevents me from saving and restarting--I have to force quit at that point). Cannot get work done for pressing projects.

5. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
preston rey Oct 25, 2014 10:40 AM (in response to Vinod Menon@Adobe)I can confirm all of the same behavior as RSVLabs and NathanDRobinson
While using Animate 2014.1 on both Yosemite Beta V1 and V2 I did not have any issues. With the Yosemite Public release, I began loosing bounding boxes and rulers (which incidentally was abated by a cmd+r to hide and then re-show the rulers). After what seemed that problem stopped happening, I started to get the C++ exception asking me to save my progress, close and re-open Edge Animate (which couldn't be done because the app was hanging and required a force quit)
OS X Yosemite 10.10, MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.
Would love to hear of some solutions on this one as well!
Thanks,
Preston

Vinod Menon@AdobeOct 26, 2014 3:58 AM (in response to preston rey)
Hi preston
C++ exception is a bug which are already tracking in our bug tracker and will provide a fix as soon as possible. We will check out on Mac Yosemite and see whether we are able to reproduce related to rulers and bounding boxes.

7. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
naturally_nathos Nov 1, 2014 8:28 PM (in response to RSVlabs)I'm having similar problems, but for me it freezes usually when I zoom in the stage. There's no way to fix it but to Force-quit and restart.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite with Adobe Edge Animate 2014.1. Same Animate version worked great on Mavericks.
Running on a mid-2014 21" iMac.

8. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
johnnyangelo Feb 12, 2015 3:26 PM (in response to RSVlabs)Still no fix for this? I'm running Edge Animate 2014.1 on Yosemite 10.10.2 (2014 max-spec Mac Pro) and is the most unstable app I've yet to come across. Crashes every few minutes for seemingly no particular reason to the point where I'm considering using another app entirely. Is Animate a development priority or sifting towards nonexistence?

9. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
Stormy3000 Feb 12, 2015 10:47 PM (in response to RSVlabs)I'm using Adobe Edge Animate with Yosemite... I'm new to using Edge though so its hard to tell when something is me or if its a bug... my money is on my woes being bugs (util proven otherwise :-)
This was my post yesterday.
Any pointers welcome.

scooterlibby1337 Feb 13, 2015 11:31 AM (in response to naturally_nathos)Same issue. v2014.1.1 and Yosemite 10.10.2
Only stable for a few minutes, then crashes. Every.Single.Time.

12. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
scooterlibby1337 Feb 18, 2015 6:31 AM (in response to Gautsch)Well, it makes me feel better that I'm not alone.
Why doesn't Adobe just announce that it's a known issue and they are working on it?

rcatalani May 3, 2015 4:08 PM (in response to RSVlabs)I'm having the same problem. Funny thing is that it was working enough in the last few days. Since yesterday I can't do ABSOLUTELY nothing rather open the app. Really annoyed ): Hello Adobe?

Hi All,
Thanks for writing to us with your concern.
Can you please try remoing google Chrome (if installed) from the system just for the testing purpose and check if that helps.
Constant crashes with Edge Animate and Yosemite
Please share the result.

15. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
rbish7660 May 5, 2015 9:14 AM (in response to Devendra Kumar)I'm having the same issues with a new macbook pro on yosemite. Program runs for about a minute then all wonky and locks up. How in the world can Adobe keep closed-mouth about this! There is not a single other program in the Creative Pro package that we pay dearly for that has this kind of terrible performance. Does it make anyone else wonder if we can even make our future plans to include Edge or are we going to have to look for an alternative software to learn and invest in. Edge is very close to losing its professional customers.

16. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
resdesign May 5, 2015 10:04 AM (in response to rbish7660)I am sorry about the issues you have encountered. I have a Mac and 3 windows 8.1 pc and have no problem with any of them. It is hard to assess your specific problem since there are different issues with different computers. Have you tried any of the suggestions above?

17. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
rbish7660 May 5, 2015 10:36 AM (in response to resdesign)Appreciate your responses, redesign. The only suggestion I see is to try removing Chrome. No go. Have also seen advice about removing dropbox. No. Remove Box? Transporter? Still no change. Are you suggesting I should revert to Maverick?

resdesign May 5, 2015 1:31 PM (in response to rbish7660)I am not sure really what you should do. Have you tried to contact tech support with your particular issues?

19. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
rbish7660 May 5, 2015 1:40 PM (in response to resdesign)Wow. I thought the folks on this forum, MVPs like yourself, but especially people marked "STAFF" were actually a step ABOVE Adobe's usual tech support. I thought these folks were actually on the Edge development team. Do I have that wrong?

20. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
resdesign May 5, 2015 2:01 PM (in response to rbish7660)Sorry, I do not have the ability to check the specs of your specific computer and any log file that could help detecting the conflict between your system and EA. I just help on code and UI. I have been volunteering to answer questions on this forum since the beginning of EA and help people correct their files when they have errors. I do not work for Adobe. I have nothing to do with the dev team.
Again, I am sorry you feel I am not adequate here on this forum.

21. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
rbish7660 May 5, 2015 2:13 PM (in response to resdesign)Are you kidding? I have had more help learning and solving problems on my Edge projects from your forum contributions and samples (those sample projects are like gold for us learners!) than just about any other contributor. Keep it up.
I'm just really frustrated with Adobe. I almost get the feeling that Adobe is just on the verge of giving up on Edge. Like they know that it's not going to work for them in the long run and so they're holding back resources on development. Otherwise they'd have fixed it long ago. There are NO other Adobe products that are so unfunctional. It's absolutely unlike Adobe and that's what makes me wonder if it's worth continuing to invest the time to develop my use of it. (And I have been using it and publishing Edge projects for almost a year now. Went out on a limb to talk my publisher into taking a chance on adding some development time into putting it into our web publishing stream.)

... and I feel your pain!

23. Re: Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite
Michael84 May 30, 2015 12:10 PM (in response to rbish7660)Same here. I would appreciate open and honest words from Adobe about the future of Edge Animate. We have invested a lot in projects built with Edge Animate, but we are on the verge to move all over projects to Tumult Hype (http://tumult.com/hype/) instead. In its current form, Edge Animate is practically unusable and Adobe offers horrible support.
