Tarik :: Creativaholic Oct 25, 2014 8:25 AM (in response to Tarik :: Creativaholic)Hide This page from Search Engines (bug):
It seems that the new editor and web page fields don't show what they actually do based on my previous comment.
If you select the 'Hide this page for search engines', nor the editor shows that the meta robots has been added, nor the radio for it stays checked (therefore, the 'Show this page for search engines' radio stays always checked), even though, when you look at the live page's source, you'd see that the meta robots has been added.

3. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
Tarik :: Creativaholic Oct 27, 2014 5:01 AM (in response to Tarik :: Creativaholic)When you use the Toolbox in the New Editor, some elements may go wacky sometimes. One particular bug: In The Design/Normal View, go to the Toolbox > Site Modules > Secure Zones > Update User Details Form.
If you change the dropdown to select a different CRM Form (that was created in the Extend CRM) - yes you have to wait a fraction of a second to get the right form refreshed, but then when you click insert, nothing happens, so actually the form doesn't get inserted. Although, if you switch to Code view, you get the form inserted just fine.
So I tried multiple options and the conclusion was that every time you select a different form in the drop down, this issue occurs.

Thank you again.

5. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
GenieCorp Nov 5, 2014 12:07 AM (in response to Tarik :: Creativaholic)I am not sure this is the "right" place to publish this, because the "problems" I have with the new editor is not exactly bugs, more lack of functions compared to the old one.
But i thought it would be better to put this in one place, instead of spreading it all over the forum? If it is not the case, i apologize
1. Will there be a "paste plain text" in the new editor, I use this feature often so I don't need to remove the formatting from text before pasting it into BC.
I also recommend it to a lot of clients who try to paste in text with all sorts of formatting.
2. The new "inser image" dialog is really nice. I like the previews and i know that our clients will like it as well, but will there be a option to switch to a "file overview" instead.
Some times it will be a lot easier to find a picture from the filename, instead of browsing through the pictures.
3. Is "Image properties" removed in the new editor? I found it useful for floating pictures left/right, resizing to a specific width etc. I can do this in the html fairly easily,
but i found the other way quicker.
4. Much the same with the "Insert link" tool. I can't find "target". Is this gone also? Yes i can do this directly in the HTML, but in some situations i think this is a lot easier.
In general I think the new editor is great, and I think it will be even better, but i think some of the tools has been simplified a bit to much.
I am aware that this is a whole new editor, and I think it is great with all these new features, but i am a bit sad to see some of the old ones go.
Maybe a lot of my problems i've put here can be solved in other ways, if that is the case I would love to know

Liam Dilley Nov 5, 2014 12:48 AM (in response to GenieCorp)Hey GenieCorp
1. You do not need paste as plain text. Paste from word. Go on, do it. The editor is so good, the code is so clean!
2. You can click and resize and etc. BC have done a great job with the fact that when you do it creates a thumbnail generation code so you have optimised images.

7. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
cristinel@adobe Nov 5, 2014 1:01 AM (in response to GenieCorp)Hi,
Compared to the old editor the new editor has some missing features. For others, the same result is obtained differently. So, let's take these one by one:
- Paste as plain text - the old editor had a series of buttons which you had to press in order to do that. The new editor will have a setting in partner portal and then we'll just paste clean text
- Glad you like the new insert image dialog; having a file view will probably not be there quite soon. An idea could be to have a search to help you limit the results, but no promises
- Image properties
- alignment - we plan to do these from the toolbar buttons already existing
- resize - just drag the image and we'll create a thumbnail for the image
- alt text - we'll update the UI
- Insert link tool - we'll update the UI to add target
Regards,
Cristinel

9. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
GenieCorp Nov 5, 2014 4:00 AM (in response to cristinel@adobe)Hi Christinel
1. This sounds great, I have no need for the "old" buttons. If it always paste as plain text, that is the best solution I could ever have wished for, also for our clients
2. Ok. The search field would be nice, it would be easier if you were looking for a specific picture instead of browsing through them all.
3. Overall sounds great. I like the "drag" function with resizing, especcially for our clients, but most of the times if i resize pictures i want to have a specific px. width for example.
But no worries, i can do this in the HTML. Our clients will love the "drag" feature.
4. Great, thanks!
I hope I didn't come across as being against the new editor, overall i think it improves a lot of things, especially the "Full screen" feature, and the new HTML editor is fantastic
Thx, for the fast reponse (also to you Liam)

10. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
cristinel@adobe Nov 5, 2014 5:19 AM (in response to Liam Dilley)Hi Liam,
The bug list thread has some reports especially with bugs related to selection, applying formatting and so on. I think they could stay there pretty well. The ones above are more feature missing rather than bugs. I remember you've also requested to include some of redactor's plug-ins. We need to see what kind of licence they have and if they can be included.

Tarik :: Creativaholic Nov 5, 2014 5:23 AM (in response to cristinel@adobe)Hi Cristinel,
Just a note on the above as features, the original post I created is more of bugs not features though.
I just want to make sure that they are not ignored.

14. Re: New Editor (redactor) On Admin Bugs List
Tarik :: Creativaholic Nov 12, 2014 10:11 PM (in response to Tarik :: Creativaholic)Hyperlink Spacing Bug:
This bug has been around for a while, it actually happens wherever redactor is implemented, even in Email Campaigns with Visual Editor enabled.
Whenever you insert a hyperlink using redactor (or even build it in a campaign template), the space between the hyperlink and the following word get stripped, you even go in HTML and add the space again, save, come back and it's gone.
You'll have to add the non-breaking space in HTML manually after every hyperlink to ensure it stays. This is definitely not ideal for Email Campaigns with Visual Editor enabled nor for the overall representation in the entire platform having redactor across all modules.
I hope this can be prioritised asap as for clients with no HTML knowledge, this just gonna be a turn off.
I think Imperavi pushed an update on v10+, we are using the latest version in our custom Apps and we don't have this issue. The only hassle with upgrading to v10 is that Imperavi have made a LOT of changes to the markup and even the Callbacks with classes and IDs in CSS changes on top of that. I guess an upgrade will see you guys changing all the custom plugins you have already built, but fixes may also be as frustrating?
Anyway, I'll leave it in your hands.
