There is a link in the tutorial list about sharing to a file to play on a computer

I have never tried to export directly to a USB drive, but the idea SHOULD be the same as exporting to an internal hard drive
What computer operating system is involved?
What is the export of choice in this case? Can I assume Publish+Share/Computer/ and one of the Computer choices?
Generalizing at this point, you should be able to insert the USB Flash Drive (with appropriate capacity) in the computer
USB port. In the export area, in the Save In field, browse to and select the USB Flash Drive. Hit the Save button.
Should be a doable task.

Here's what I did. I'm on a PC Windows 8 using Premiere Elements 12. Once project completed, go to Publish/Share, choose Computer, change to AVCHD, choose MP4 -H264 1440x1080p 24 then in "Save as" select the drive you have your thumb drive or SD card in (Browse to find that drive) then "Save". Worked ok

Thanks for the follow up and the news of your success. Great job. Glad the suggestion worked for you.
And, yes, I have also found this works with USB Flash Drive or, with my computer with a SD card slot, SD memory card.
What capacity USB Flash Drive or SD card did you use for the task? And, were you able to use either for play back of the file
on your TV with one of those attached multimedia players?
Best wishes as you move forward with your Premiere Elements projects.
Used a 8GB thumb drive, also tried coping to a 16GB SD card. Both worked. Only played back on a Mac and a PC, did not try TV yet. Thanks
