    Windows 8.1 tablet

    Buzz81 Community Member

I received a Creative Cloud promo email today that said "Now you can do serious creative work whether you're on your phone, tablet, or desktop. Your Creative Cloud Profile lets you access your favorite creative assets from any device."   I have a Windows 8.1 laptop for my office and a Windows 8.1 tablet that I travel with, and an Android phone.  Can I install Creative Cloud on my Windows 8.1 tablet now (a Dell Venue 8 Pro), and my Android phone (an HTC One M8)?  The last time I asked - within the past 2 months - I was told that I could not install on my tablet.

Buzz81 it depends if your tablet meets and exceeds the system requirements for the applications you are wishing to install.  You can find a list of system requirements at System requirements | Creative Cloud.

My specs check out for most system requirements, but I'm confused about the processor.   Adobe specs require Intel Pentium 4.  How does that compare to an Intel Atom (mine is Z3740D)?  The Pentium 4 does not have as many cores, but may have a higher operating frequency.

Buzz81 I believe the Intel Atom processor is able to duplicate the functions of a Pentium 4 processor.  You can download and install a trial of the software to evaluate the performance on your computer.

I just tried to install it with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat XI Pro and InCopy.   Photoshop was first at bat, and the installation failed with the following message:

                Exit Code: 6

Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR:

What's up with that?   My tablet is 32 bit, not 64 bit.  Is that the issue?

                  Hi, Buzz81,

You may try the below steps:

Go to Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features,

Find Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x86) in the list of installed Applications.

Right click on it and then click on it and then click on 'change'

Then select Repair. (You may have to restart your computer)

Once repaired, restart your computer and try installing.

                  Regards,

                  Rahman.

Thanks - I meant to write back, but after restating the 2012 redistributable was installed and the CC applications finally installed correctly.   I can't recall if I had to install the 2012 redistributable from the Microsoft webstie, but I think it installed sometime during the Photoshop installation, and, for some reason, wasn't recognized until I restarted.   I had to turn the tablet off because it shut everything down except the Windows button (which couldn't even get me to the Metro screen) and the Taskbar.   After restarting I was able to finish installing.
