1. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
alessandro savoldelli Oct 29, 2014 3:46 AM (in response to JHarvey86)I had same experience. My app work perfectly in ACV now, but when I use appBuilder to test, it looks very lagggy when I scroll up and down long pages (more than 3000px) , and when I turn to pages where's in auto sequence images.
Sometimes while I swipe from page to another, appear for one second the first page (the cover) and then it goes to the page that I choose.
Before update my Ipad it worked all correctly after building the app.

JHarvey86 Oct 29, 2014 5:09 AM (in response to JHarvey86)Just to add, it seems to have problems with overlays set to vector, raster ones work ok but are obviously not very good for renditions.

4. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
ErinKReynolds Oct 30, 2014 11:15 AM (in response to JHarvey86)I spent a few hours today comparing articles in the V31 content viewer and the V32.2 content viewer. I’m not seeing any difference between the articles in each content viewer. I’ve tested with files provided to me by Jharvey, vector vs raster content, as well as auto sequence images and long smooth scrolling articles. I’m testing with an iPad Air, iOS8.1.
Would you please share with me what devices and iOSs you are testing with. Are you seeing the slow behavior in a custom built R32.2 content viewer as well as your custom viewer app?
Jharvey, would you please provide a source file that demonstrates the Edge bug. I’m not seeing any issues with the Edge test content I’m using.
Thank you both for your time,
Erin

5. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JHarvey86 Oct 30, 2014 11:34 AM (in response to JHarvey86)Hi Erin,
On the source file we gave you, when each state loads on our iPads here, all the other layers 'judder' which it never used to do. We have been testing on iPad Air, iPad 2,3, and 2 ipad mini's. They are all on iOS 8.
We have seen the behaviour on our custom built viewer, and our client is seeing the behaviour on the normal viewer form the app store.
Ill try and get the edge file over when I'm back at work tomorrow.

6. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
alessandro savoldelli Oct 30, 2014 11:42 AM (in response to ErinKReynolds)Hi Erin, and thanks for your interest. I appreciate that.
In ACV I've no problem. It's fluently. I build an app and test it on iPad 3 Retina with iOS.8.1. Some pages in the app are very lag. And sometimes the first page appears and immediately disappears before the page I choose. Would you see and test one of my page or do you want a link to download and test my app? How can I do?
Thanks to you.

ErinKReynolds Nov 3, 2014 11:04 AM (in response to alessandro savoldelli)Hi Alessandro,
I think the best way to get to the root of the problem would be for me to view your test app. I'll send you an email message with further instructions.
Thank you,
Erin

9. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JRHarvey86 Nov 4, 2014 2:57 AM (in response to JHarvey86)I have rebuilt the app again and have viewed all our existing and new editions on the developer app, and on our slightly older iPads, this is still very slow, and every time an object state loads (more than one a page) they all flicker.
Moving between articles is also slow or not as smooth as it once was.

10. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JRHarvey86 Nov 4, 2014 3:00 AM (in response to JHarvey86)We have also seen other people that have updated their apps live on the app store and we can notice these issues on their apps also.
Overlays take ages to load/come into focus. Page scrolling is laggy/not smooth.

11. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
ErinKReynolds Nov 4, 2014 2:50 PM (in response to JHarvey86)Thanks to you both for your information and shared assets. I see the issues that you have described and will log bugs for the performance issue as well as the "cover appearing when swiping issue."
JHarvey - I was getting hung up on trying to see differences between vector and raster images, but the additional information you provided helps me understand the expected behavior better. I do see the jerky, "judder" behavior on the cover. One quick question - which app version were you using prior to V32.2?
I still need to look at the EDGE issue. I just saw the additional content you shared. Thanks!
I also want to confirm that this is happening in iOS7. JHarvey86, I am seeing the magazine cover performance issue on iOS7, but it would be helpful to know if the overall performance is the same for both iOSs.

12. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JRHarvey86 Nov 5, 2014 1:15 AM (in response to ErinKReynolds)Hi Erin,
The app thats currently on the App Store is V31, the previous version to that we think was V30.
We have an iPad 3 here still on iOS7, and this also seems to suffer from being slow. I have downloaded some of our older folios and these also seem to have the problem with pages not being smooth to scroll between.
Many thanks

13. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JRHarvey86 Nov 11, 2014 4:37 AM (in response to JRHarvey86)Any more news on this? We have just upgraded our app to V32.3 and its still slow and laggy.
We have downloaded the latest Adobe viewer and get the same problems. And we are still noticing the same issues on other apps made by other people in the App store that are created using DPS.

14. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
alessandro savoldelli Nov 11, 2014 6:11 AM (in response to JRHarvey86)Hi JR, I still have same issues. Slow and laggy, but for me the major problem is the cover that sometimes appear and disappear while I scroll my brochure. After the precious help of Erin, it seems that my folio have several overlays. I'm frustrated because before the last update to 8.1 and various release of App Builder, my app worked perfectly. This is becoming a hard way of working.

15. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
ErinKReynolds Nov 11, 2014 9:29 AM (in response to JHarvey86)Quick update. The overall performance issue and EDGE bug is still under investigation. I was told that the cover issue was fixed in 32.3.
Thanks,
Erin

16. Re: V32.2 Slow and Edge Problems
JRHarvey86 Nov 11, 2014 9:35 AM (in response to ErinKReynolds)Hi Erin,
Thanks for the update, but from what we can see (on devices older than iPad Air's) the performance still seems slower. On our build of the 32.3 the cover still 'judders' as each state loads.
Thanks
James
