I haven't debugged the issue completely but we have fixed a similar issue recently in CC 2014.1. The fix will be available in the next patch.
Meanwhile, can you try using the custom font 'Helvetica Neue Light' using a css? There is a js error in the loading which may be causing the behaviors to break. If it doesn't work, then please share the composition with us.
