I have exactly the same problem running on Windows 8.1 but cannot find a solution. Splash screen comes up, Organizer loads and works, click video editor and get existing or new project choice. Select one and the splash screen goes away but task manager shows Elements 12 as still running. Cannot load or start an elements project.
Appreciate any help also.
What version of Premiere Elements are you using on Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Let us go through the usual drill
a. Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
b. How many video cards/graphics cards does your computer use? Which one or ones?
c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
d. Have you reviewed any of the possibilities in the following
Depending on your answers, we will probably be heading for deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file
and, if necessary, the whole folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. And, if that does not
work, then uninstall/free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts)/reinstall with antivirus
and firewall(s) disabled.
One of the last stages might include creating a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installing
and running your version of Premiere Elements from there.
Let us determine if any of the above has any impact on the issues.
