Which computer do you use PS and LR with, desktop or laptop?

      Hi,

Here's my dilemma. I have two iPad, the iPad 3 and New Mini Retina. I'm going to sell my iPad 3 and use the money to purchase the iPad Air 2, but then I got to thinking about how much time I spend engaged on my iPad at work doing non-work things. I could be more productive if instead of purchasing a replacement for the larger iPad I purchased a laptop. The price difference isn't that large. So here's my question:

Is using PS and LR on a laptop harder than using a desktop?

I know I can add an external mouse but in terms of processing speeds and whatnot, would there be a big difference? Right now I'm using iMac 2013 (3TB, fusion, 32GB). I'd be looking to buy an Apple laptop. If I do go that route is there anything I should lookout for in choosing a laptop for LR and PS?
