MXF Files import with defective sync sound to premiere or Media Encoder.

I'm having a lot of problems with MXF files from a Canon C300. They were not imported from the camera disk with Canon FX and the folder structure along with  some of the native files were lost.

When I try to convert import them into Premiere the sound files (recorded as two mono channels with to input mics)  are sorter. the only frame in sync is the first frame but from then they start to go out of sync.

I've seen some discussions here about the theme and alternatives to import to Canon FX but they are not working for me.

The MXF files play well and with sync sound in VLC. The only other way I found they are correctly interpreted is using handbreak to transcode them. I can use the audio and the video from the premiere MXF import. but is very time consuming (there are a lot of lengthy takes).

Two other solutions will be to configure Handbreak to transcode to an approximation of Apple ProRes,

      or

to figure out why Media Encoder interprets the sound files to a different length, shorter than the video file.

      Can anyone offer any help?

      Thank you very much.

I am pretty you sure about that mxf files can't be directly import into your Premiere. Do you have the Canon mxf plug in? This software is free and it is developed by Canon to help their clients to solve this kind of problem just like you. Here I found a blog for you , in it , it includes a workflow about how to deal with your problem.

Hope this can help you. MXF to FCPX not working? A possible fix But this blog final aim was to import mxf into FCPX, still you can refer the previous steps .

If this free mxf plug in, can't solve your problem, then I suggest you to turn to the thrid-party convert app. Since you already had the Handbrake, this is a good tool. How about try the free mts/m2ts converter from pavtube. You can find it in App store or just google it. It's free and easy to use. Good luck with that.

          Hope this can help you.
