1. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
Steve Grisetti Nov 3, 2014 5:21 AM (in response to DavidVerner)Those are some unusual video specs. What model of camcorder is that video from?
If it's from another source (like a screen recording program) there may be an issue its codec. When you open the video file in G Spot or Media Info, what video and audio codecs are listed?

2. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
DavidVerner Nov 3, 2014 1:51 PM (in response to Steve Grisetti)The video was recorded from a screen recorder called PlayClaw 5. I'm using the MPEG video capture codec through the program.

3. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
DavidVerner Nov 3, 2014 4:36 PM (in response to DavidVerner)Did some more finagling with the program today and have figured out that it seems to be an issue for when I try to render videos at 60FPS. Videos turn out just fine when I render to 30FPS but when I go to render at 60FPS I get the double speed play on the video.

What is the frame rate of your source video for the project.....you say 60 FPS.
Do you mean 60 progressive frames per second or 60i (29.97 interlaced frames per second also known as 60 fields per second)?

5. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
DavidVerner Nov 3, 2014 10:06 PM (in response to A.T. Romano)60 progressive frames a second. I did another test with some 60 progressive frames a second video shot from a camcorder and it seems to be doing just fine rendering 30 and 60 FPS videos. Just seems to be an issue with my MPEG screen recorded video from PlayClaw5.

6. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
Steve Grisetti Nov 4, 2014 5:26 AM (in response to DavidVerner)Without the more complete information on your video that I asked for in my first post, I won't be able to help you.
But I see that ATR has taken over this thread, so I'll step back and let her lead the discussion.

I am not sure how asking one simple fundamental question of davidverner can by any stretch of the imagination be construed as taking over a thread.
There is nothing stopping or blocking you from continuing your discussion with davidverner related to your reply to this ID
Without the more complete information on your video that I asked for in my first post, I won't be able to help you.
We will be watching for your follow up with davidverner when he does post the information that you have requested.

Thanks for your reply to my question about 60p vs 60i.
When you do post more information on your problematic video for all contributors to view and respond to, could you double check the video format. I came across another thread here on PlayClaw5 which seems to suggest that you are working with MotionJPEG (MJPEG) video compression with an .avi file extension. So, I found your reply
The video was recorded from a screen recorder called PlayClaw 5. I'm using the MPEG video capture codec through the program.
interesting. Even if it is MotionJPEG.avi, I do not recall frame rate irregularities being part of the MotionJPEG problem set.
We will be watching for further developments.

DavidVerner Nov 4, 2014 11:09 PM (in response to Steve Grisetti)At first I wasn't sure what you meant by Media Info until I googled it. This is what Media Info program pulled when I ran one of the the PlayClaw videos through it.
Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave Format_Profile : OpenDML FileSize/String : 2.87 GiB Duration/String : 4mn 49s OverallBitRate/String : 84.9 Mbps Encoded_Library/String : AVI AVI AVI AVI Video
ID/String : 0 Format : JPEG CodecID : MJPG Duration/String : 4mn 49s BitRate/String : 84.9 Mbps Width/String : 1 776 pixels Height/String : 1 000 pixels DisplayAspectRatio/String : 16:9 FrameRate/String : 60.000 fps ColorSpace : YUV ChromaSubsampling : 4:2:0 BitDepth/String : 8 bits Compression_Mode/String : Lossy Bits-(Pixel*Frame) : 0.797 StreamSize/String : 2.87 GiB (100%) My PlayClaw recording settings are set to MJPEG recording with the Encoder Setups set to 85% quality and "Use YUV411 compression" checked while "Use full color range (0-255)" is unchecked. I got the program to separate my audio and video into separate files to allow for greater editing freedoms.

10. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
Steve Grisetti Nov 5, 2014 5:22 AM (in response to DavidVerner)The MJPEG codec is likely the issue here.
I'm sure ATR will have more to say on this.

Thanks for the follow up information very helpful, especially your comment at the end of the data
I got the program to separate my audio and video into separate files to allow for greater editing freedoms.
Does that mean that you did two imports into the project,
first, the PlayClaw5 video file (MJPEG.avi) to Video Track 1
and then
second, the PlayClaw5 audio file to Audio 1?
What happens if you do not separate files into video and audio in PlayClaw5 and you import one PlayClaw5 file (a mix of
video and audio) - any problems in Premiere Elements?

12. Re: How to get PE13 to render imported 60FPS videos with out fast forwarding the video?
DavidVerner Nov 5, 2014 8:28 PM (in response to A.T. Romano)Haven't tried that so I will screw around with that later tonight and see what happens.
Update: I gave that a shot and got the same results.
