Losing place in large collection, or way to get back to where you were?

Hi!

One thing I don't like how collections work. If I'm working in a collection, and by accident, maybe dragging a photo to a different collection and by mistake opening that collection, I can't easily navigate back exactly where I was. it brings me to the top of the collection.

Now, I'm going through a 4,000+ collection for a travel book. Maybe i'm half way through it. If i want to do something else, I can't get back to the precice place.

Any ideas.

I wish you could open 2 or more collections in floating windows.

Hi Alex,

I agree: the lack of selection memory/restoral when changing sources is one of the most annoying things when using Lightroom - downright embarrassing even..

Yes, if you're brave enough to use a plugin:

1. Use AnySource (by John Ellis): it has back/forward buttons which preserve previous selection.
2. Use OddJobs (free, by me): it auto-remembers/restores previous selection when you click Lr's back/forward buttons (or navigate to a new folder or source using any other means..).

Also: Gazoo and Ottomate have "restore previous selection" buttons, if you prefer..
