Answer to the ' No disk in drive E ' problem.

    Veeblefester

      Win 8.1

      You need administrative privileges.

If you do not have a drive E.

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Maximize.

In left pane, Storage > Disk Management > Wait for the window to populate.

In the right pane, lower half, right click on drive E > Change Drive Letter and Paths…

      ‘Remove’ drive E.

Close back to desktop and reboot.

Should be similar for other flavors of  Windows.

With what version of Premiere Elements on Windows 8.1 64 bit are you having this "No disk in drive E" issue?

In your suggested fix, you start with

If you do not have a drive E.

But, where are you supposed to have a drive E in Manage/Disc Management/ if you do not have drive E in

the first place in "This PC" display of drives? If I do not see an E drive in "My PC" display, I do not see an E drive

in Disc Management with the drives that I do see in "My PC" display.

            Please follow the instruction.

No drive E: showed up in My PC (File Explorer).

However, drive E: did show up in 'Storage > Disk Management'.

This solution quickly solved the problem!

              Thank you for the clarification.

No drive E: showed up in My PC (File Explorer).

However, drive E: did show up in 'Storage > Disk Management'.

What version of Premiere Elements were you working with when you ran into this No disk in drive E issue?

Do you have any idea if the E drive existed in Disc Management before your Premiere Elements was installed?

I have not run into this issue and just wanted to clarify the above since it is getting to be a more frequent question

              in this forum.

              Thanks.
