PS graphics processor memory use depends on user

I upgraded my PC (win 8.1 64 bit) with a GeForce 980, 4 GB, newest driver, and an Eizo EV3237.

In Photoshop cc under edit preferences performance, “use graphics processor” cannot be activated. Thus some 3-D functions do not have enough memory.

Then adding a new user to the system with administrator rights and running Photoshop with this user, it is possible to configure the graphics processor and run the 3-D functions like perspective warp.

While this is a workaround I still prefer to use my main admin account with full Photoshop functionality.

Does anyone have an idea on how to unfreeze the use graphics processor tick? Thanks.
