I have just purchased PE 13 as I wanted to use Motion Tracking. The problem is that it does not work. I have read previous posts relating to this problem but with no satisfactory answer. This is my problem:
I select my video clip, and select motion tracking, I can then select the object to be tracked, at which point I get the yellow rectangle. I then selected the graphic (a speech bubble) and dragged it onto the yellow rectangle, and this is where the problem appears. According to the tutorial I watched, the yellow box is then supposed to turn blue, indicating that my graphic is attached to the object in motion, but the box remains yellow, so the graphic cannot be attached. I have clicked "Done" and run the clip, but the graphic remains fixed and does not follow the action.
I have tried various graphics with the same result.
I am using Windows 8.1, on Dell XPS 8700 64 bit.
The source video is MPEG 1280 x 720 - 25 frame rate.
Is there a fix for this problem? otherwise I may just get a refund and return to my PE11, as PE13 doe as not offer many other advantages.
Nope. Should work perfect.
Although it helps if the object or person you are following is distinct in color from the background.
You don't mention it but, after you select the object to be tracked, do you click the button to track it? You must do this before you add the graphic -- and it should create a number of motion keyframes.
Thanks for the reply Steve. yes, I do click on the "Track it" button, and the subject, an Orange Dalek!!! on a woodland video background, is certainly distinctive!
