The simpliest example.
Grey button opens grey popup. Click button and wait few seconds.

This seems like a bug and will be tracked internally.
thanks for reporting the issue.
Workaround:
1. Delete the "display:Off" keyframe from the timeline so that the "popup" becomes visible on the stage
2. Add the sym.$("popup").hide(); in the compositionReady event handler for the stage
