photoshop wont auto install

My wife bought Photoshop Elements several months ago. She could never get it to install and has asked me to look at it. I have not been able to get it to even auto run on our computer. I see the disc but the computer will not start the installation process with the disc anymore. I read online that it may be an issue with Windows 8 and its DVD reading capabilities but I am unsure. Any suggestions?

Hi,

It could be that the autoplay facility has been turned off.

Use the Windows Explorer to show the files on the DVD and double click on AutoPlay.exe - that should start the install.
