What happened to the old extract image from background feature?

I want to extract or separate a figure from it's background. Photoshop used to have a tool for this. I don't want the "extract" feature for getting files out, whatever that does. (Can't find that either). I just wont silhouette an image. Where did it go? I cannot find any help for this in the online help either.

Photoshop CC 14.2 x 64 (Mac)

The extract filter has been gone for a long time. The refine edge tools have kind of taken its place. They are much more powerful that the old extract image feature. There are much better ways to extract images. Do a search on making selections in Photoshop. There are so many ways to do this, and it all depends upon your image.

I used to use Topaz Lab's Re-Mask, but since CC my version is incompatible. Refine edge is good bit Re-mask made the selection initial selection and mask so much easier with complex images. Sigh. I guess I'll have to spend yet more money.
