double spacing times new roman font at 12 point font InDesign

I want to write a research paper in InDesign so that the images I include can be placed properly and my text will look good around it. Requirements are Times New Roman 12pt font double spaced. If normal spacing is 120% of the font size, shouldn't I just double that to 240%? Thus, the leading would be set at 28.8? Thank you to anyone who confirms my amazing math skills. Thank you to anyone who corrects my horrible math skills.
