On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 installed?
Were you ever able to sign in to the program?
Please review and consider the following

Unable to sign in to Nov 9, 2014 6:02 PM (in response to A.T. Romano)I have never been able to sign into the program. I am using a Dell XPS420 running Vista. I have been running Premier 10 on this system for a number of years. I uninstalled it, loaded 12 and cannot sign in.

Thanks for the follow up.
Is your Windows Vista 32 or 64 bit?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card? How many video cards/graphics cards
does your computer use - one or two. Please verify with Device Manager/Display Adapters/.
Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Even if you are, right click the desktop
icon for the program, select and apply Run As Administrator.
Have you gone through the remedies in the blog posts?
Uninstall the program the usual Control Panel way
Do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) to get rid of leftovers from incomplete uninstalls/reinstalls
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Please review and consider.
Thank you.

Thanks for the update.
Looking forward to any additional troubleshooting results.
Are you installing from installation files obtained from purchase of online download from Adobe or from
installation disc from purchase of the boxed packaged product from an authorized reseller?
What do your computer specifications look like - installed and available RAM and free hard drive space?
Did you ever say if you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 12?
Two possibilities for you to explore
a. downloading new installation files
and
b. creating a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installing and trying to run
Premiere Elements 12 there.
Another thought....you wrote
I can sign in to adobe.com but I cannot sign in to video editor in premier 12 using that adobe id.
Is there the remotest chance you could have 2 different Adobe IDs with passwords? Maybe way out, but
thought that I would ask - just in case.
We will be watching for further results.
Thank you.

6. Re: Unable to sign in to Premier 12 with valid adobe ID
loewengr Nov 10, 2014 12:04 PM (in response to A.T. Romano)1. Did the cleaner thing with software you recommended.
2. Tried to run with full administrator rights but no go
3. Re-installed but ensured firewall and virus protection off - no go.
4. I bought the software from Amazon recently.
5. I have 4G ram and 400 MB free space on hard drive.
6. Need to check for latest driver for graphics card yet.
It is possible that I have two Adobe ID. I am going to check into this some more.

7. Re: Unable to sign in to Premier 12 with valid adobe ID
Unable to sign in to Nov 10, 2014 12:15 PM (in response to loewengr)I have two ID's. I signed in with the original but told me wrong password. I went through a password change for that ID tried again and nothing. I therefore created a new ID which did not work either.

8. Re: Unable to sign in to Premier 12 with valid adobe ID
A.T. Romano Nov 10, 2014 12:43 PM (in response to A.T. Romano)To whom it may concern..
Please clarify....
Is "Unable to sign in to" and "lowengr" the same person? Or am I communicating with two different Premiere Elements 12 users, each
with a Premiere Elements 12 Sign In issue?
Whether one or two and exploration of multiple Adobe IDs and Passwords is taking place, consider
a. uninstall Premiere Elements 12
b. straighten out the Adobe ID and Password situation (one Adobe account should be considered) - with Adobe/Adobe Chat assistance
if necessary
Premiere Elements
Membership, Account, Payment
Account Settings
Chat Panel
If the link does not hold the set, then you will need to navigate to Chat Panel using the above titles as guides..
c. ccleaner run through
d. reinstall Premiere Elements 12 with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

Thanks for the follow up.
Just to be sure...are you now able to Sign In with an Adobe ID and Password for Premiere Elements 12?
If so, please update 12 to the 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
The major perk of the 12.1 Update is that it fixes the Expert workspace text style issue. There
other undefined advantages as well.

Unable to sign in to Nov 11, 2014 10:10 AM (in response to A.T. Romano)1. Video graphics card has latest driver.
2. CHAT tells me the problem is with Premiere and not the ADOBE ID.
3. Uninstalled software via Control Panel, and used Cleaner.
4. Will try and reload if that does not work, will try the fixes as described in blogspot.

Thanks for the update. The other Premiere Elements 12 Vista user in a similar situation appears to be heading for refund from Best Buy, but has not devoted
as much time into the troubleshooting as you have.
I have never had Vista computer, only Windows XP 32 bit as well as 7, 8, and 8.1 64 bit.
Are you working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active?
Have we looked at creating a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installing and running Premiere Elements 12 there?
Did the Chat Panel offer any comments or help beyond "its the program and not the Adobe ID"?

16. Re: Unable to sign in to Premier 12 with valid adobe ID
Unable to sign in to Nov 12, 2014 6:32 AM (in response to A.T. Romano)I have tried with administrative privileges but to no avail.
On my second Adobe ID there was no software attached to that ID which is why I think they stated that it was the software and not the ID.
This morning I have shipped everything back to Amazon. I feel the software, is no longer worth any more additional time and effort on my part. I will be looking for a different editor.
Thanks for all of your time in trying to work this through with me.

Thanks for the update. Sorry that the outcome was not better.
But, we wish you all the best with whatever video editor you decide is right for you.
As always, if you ever decide to revisit Premiere Elements as your video editor, we will be
glad for the opportunity to be of assistance.
I am not affiliated with Adobe in any way. Just a user of the programs and a visitor to the Adobe
Premiere Elements Forum.
Best wishes
