So, I dowloaded to the free trial of lightroom. After I used it for 30 days, I then Clicked the 'buy' button followed the steps, payed for the product, claimed the serial number, plugged in the number for the product, and then it presents me with a screen that says i only bought the upgrade and I need my original serial number. Why did it do this. I just paid for and upgrade to a product I never had. And the website never told me that I was buying an upgrade. I followed the steps and they practically took 85 bucks from me. How do I fix this? and why did they do this too
You cannot purchase an upgrade expecting to upgrade the trial version. Everyone who purchases Lightroom needs to purchase the full license the first time. Then they can purchase the upgrade license for the next major version. You will have to contact customer service as this is a user-to-user forum. You can try the following link. There might be some contact method there that might help you. I don't have any magic telephone number for you to call.
And the website never told me that I was buying an upgrade.
It probably did but it was not made clear enough to you.
The default buying option on most screens (exact screens vary) is the Upgrade version. Unfortunately this subtlety catches many newbies out.
Return the upgrade and buy the full version Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
