So, I have lightroom 5.3 64 bit and i was editing a wedding i shot for the past 3 days, and my computer was due for an update. So i updated it not even thinking. I didn't save nor back up the photos because in the previous version i had it would auto back them up. when my computer was done updating i went to go edit the photos and it couldn't find the file folder that the pictures are in. I have all the photos on my external hard drive and checked to see if any of those photos had the edits to them and none. i'm hoping that there is a way to get the edits i did back to all of them without having to do it all over again.
Is there a folder where Lightroom backs these photos up to?
Any help would be much appreciated.
If you checked those images NOT using Lightroom, then it's only natural that you would not see the Lightroom edits. Those edits are stored in the catalog, and unless you have set the option to write changes to XMP then there will be no changes reflected in the images when viewed outside of Lightroom. You need to find the catalog that those images were imported into and relink them if necessary. It's the only way you'll be able to get your editing restored.
