- The file or folder is read only, or you don't have the proper permissions.
- You imported by copying from elsewhere on a hard disk, and the keywords are being written to the copy, but you won't find the keywords on the originals
Thank you DJ. You are correct on #2. I DID copy the files from directory C: onto directory E: where my Lightroom files are all located. I then did a "synchronize" directory and THEN I tried to copy the keywords I assigned back into the files that were NOW located (via copy) on the E: drive. Would you know HOW to remedy this? Thank you SO much for your time and trouble. You don't have any idea what this means to me
Not sure I Understand
If, at import, you copied files from C: to E:, then Lightroom should be working with the photos on the E: drive. Yet your words seem to imply that keywords are being written to the files on the C: drive. Is my understanding correct, or incorrect?
I never DID an "import" at all. I simply COPIED the files from the C: drive onto the E: drive (the one I use for Lightroom) manually. Then I went to the subdirectory on that E: drive, through Lightroom, where I had copied them to and "synchronized" that directory. The PICTURES all appeared as being on the E: drive after I did this, but I can't write keywords to the FILES, only to the Lightroom database.
The MYSTERY has been SOLVED. I feel like a total IDIOT but I so SINCERELY appreciate your help. I want to thank you so much!
Now for the IDIOT part . . .
Bridge was looking at the C: drive and NOT my E: drive. I'm just as stupid as the person who calls up a TV repair place only to find out that they never plugged the thing in. I'm SO sorry for wasting your time. Thanks again.
