Depends on your OS and hardware. System requirements | Photoshop
CC and CC2014 needs OSX 10.7 or more.

Maybe it's an old PPC Power Mac? As Gene says, you need to be at least on Lion 10.7.5 and on a Mac Intel machine.

Lion is another name for OSX 10.7
When you click on "About this Mac", what OSX version do you get?
