Windows Store App Builder now available!

App Builder for Windows Store applications is now available! All DPS Professional and Enterprise customers can build Windows viewers by visiting http://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/.

Submitting apps to the Windows Store is somewhat different than what you may be used to on iOS and Android so Bob's put together a handy set of help topics to guide you through the process:

Very interesting. Does Adobe have any plans to make DPS apps available through Mac OSX?

No. We support Windows Store so you can bring your DPS titles to tablets running Windows 8.1. By virtue of Microsoft's OS and development platform it just so happens those same viewers will also run on any desktop or laptop running Windows 8.1 as well.

Well, that's just great. I hope Apple integrates OS X and iOS into one main ecosystem one day. Is there documentation on required folio sizes?

Just use your iOS folios at 1024x768. If you want 16:9 then use 1366x768, but it’s really not worth doing. Since it can run on desktops and laptops, and in snapped mode, you’ll never be able to fully fill the screen in all cases.

This is fantastic. Apparently Windows 8.1 runs in just over 10% of the PC market and right before the holiday season, that number should definitely grow. Hats off to the Adobe team!

We’ve actually supported Windows 8.1 since December 2013 but the only way to get a custom build was to ask me to make you one ☺ I’m glad to be out of that business now!

DPS on Windows 8.1 is pure genius on the part of the DPS team. On a tablet
it’s all about touch of course, but on a desktop or laptop it works
beautifully with keyboard and mouse.

For a sample of it, download Adobe’s Inspire Magazine app from the Windows
Store.

By the way, once approved do all 8.1 apps run on BOTH tablet, phone AND PC?

It supports all Windows 8.1 devices, which includes Windows desktops, laptops, and tablets. Phones are a different OS (Windows Phone 8.1) which we do not currently support.
