Hey, I have two questions about tethered shooting with lightroom 5.3: first, is there an option I can set so that only the jpg's will be transferred to the software/computer and the raw files will be saved only on the camera card? and second, is there a way for those jpg's to be open in lightroom without me having to import them? meaning I click the camera and the image is opening with lightroom? i'm using Macbook pro 2012 and lightroom 5.3? Thanks, Eli
I do not do tethered shooting so I am not sure about the first part to your question. However the answer to the second part is no. Lightroom by design reads and writes to the Catalog file, that's where all the data about the work you do with the files in Lightroom is stored. Lightroom only provides tether support for a short list of cameras Tethered camera support in Lightroom
Lightroom will not even open files that are on the computer they first have to be imported "referenced" in the Lightroom Catalog file. Have a look at the video from the link below.
