Make sure your Acrobat X is up to date. 10.0 will not do this, 10.1 is supposed to. Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications

I re-installed Version X several times. This is not 10.1. It is 10.0.0. It worked for 3 years and now my add-in doesn't appear anymore for a few months now.

Clearly it won't work. You need to update. But this should happen automatically unless you have turned off (or rejected) auto updates.

I didn't do anything and it just didn't appear one day. This can't be the case because when I installed Version XI, the add-ins was on the Excel toolbar automatically. How do I check to see if my auto updates are turned off?

Look in preferences (Ctrl+K). You can also check for updates from the Help menu. It is very important to update, as there are major security fixes. (I assume you checked it was 10.0.0 with Help > About Acrobat...?)
