Eliminate the obvious. If the project contains any kind of compressed audio, change it to wav or aiff files.
What exact version of CC are you running?
@Dave - obvious checked, not really an issue, the compressed audio work inside the pre-comp, once I am outside, click the audio preview and BOOOOOM, crash... or really just windows swirling circle, but yes crash.....
@szalam - I am running 2014.
Ok - an additional update, for you problem solvers out there, in addition to the obscure audio preview crash issue since converting my old CS6 master file into CC, I am also having render issues, in that, when I render out the entire video (its about 22 minutes long btw) at specific times in the video, mainly when there is a fade to black, a random picture is in the BG, I looked through all the files, there is NOTHING in the BG, only when rednered, does a random pic in the first comp (scene 1) show up at black points
kinda stressing out here....

Notice at: At 1' 17" - 1' 40" - 2' 02" the SHORT FLASH of the b/w drawing of " kneeling slaves in chains " keeps popping up on my iPad. Please check very carefully if these are the only 3 places they mistakenly flash in .
I can't seem to figure out WHY this image keeps randomly flashing in!!!
