1. Re: Is there an action script to automate a number sequence on top of a static graphic?
normfb Nov 11, 2014 12:35 PM (in response to darren beason)On the off chance that numbering on the map is a placeholder, not to print, you may want to check out a feature that first appeared the extended version of CS6. As you click on points in the image the number automatically increases. You can choose the size and color of the marker. It is called the Count Tool and it is nested with the Eyedroper. This is a typical result.

2. Re: Is there an action script to automate a number sequence on top of a static graphic?
darren beason Nov 11, 2014 1:31 PM (in response to normfb)Thanks, but the numbering toolisn't what I'm looking to achieve. I need an automating process for exporting files. But think I came up with one which it will take a little work to set up a template. Going to create a smart object for the blank map marker. Then, create Layer Group folders for each of the smart object and a text layer. I'll label each Layer Folder with an extension for the Extract Assets feature that comes with Generate. So label each Layer Folder "mappin1.png-32" and bamn. Using the Extract Assets menu will take all of those and out put them. Then when I go into this file and make color changes or change the font. It's small Layer Effect changes.
