One Solution To Jittery or Shaking Footage In After Effects

    Eric Hilliard Level 1

Hello Everyone... I ran into an issue today that was relatively frustrating, and I see over the years that a number of people have had the same issue, though no real resolutions seemed apparent. I had a clip of footage that I exported as a .mov from Premiere to do some work on in After Effects. The footage played fine in Premiere and fine in Quicktime, but when I added it to my composition in AE, the footage would jitter a small amount in between frames. I found a rather unintuitive solution for this as I was doing some rotoscoping and had the frame rate set to 59.94 as directed by AE to match the frame rate of the clip. I'm not really sure how or why I tried this as a solution, but I switched the frame rate to 29.97 and bingo - no more jittery or shaking footage! Anyhow, I thought I would take the time to share here as I know others have had the same problem.
