cannot log in with Adobe I.D.

I just uninstalled Photoshop Elements 12, Installed Photoshop Elements 10 entered license number, and it prompted me to log in after insgtallation (which I was told a year ago you did not have to do that, so why does it bug you to do it?)

Either way, I cannot log in, nothing ever happens. The little barber bar just keeps twirling and never logs in.

I should have added, I can only close the program with Ctrl Alt Del and shut it down while this is happening... cannot close the window.

You can't log in in PSE 10 because there is nothing at all to log in to anymore. Photoshop.com has been dead and gone for over a year now, and that was what the login was for. Just skip it.

Please rename opm.db file located at-
Win:C:\Users\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Mac:Users Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE

and try to sign in again.
If this does not work, please Navigate to below location
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
and rename the SLCache folder to SLCache.old

and launch Photoshop Elements from there and check.

You should be able to log into your Adobe account using your I.D. I can do it with Elements 12. I can do it at Adobe Web Site, but NOT from within the program as intended. What do you mean there is nothing there? A list of all my purchases, serial numbers etc are there.

I tried both of the above suggestions, renamed opm.db file to old and could not locate a SLCache folder in (x86)/Common Files... so I looked in Program Files/Common Files and not there either.

I am having the same issue, Photoshop elements stopped working no my Windows PC after it downloaded the 8.1 update. I cant open it at all.wn+

I have since downloaded elements 12 on another PC (Windows XP) but it asks for my ID and password, when I put that it the programme does nothing. I dont understand your message about changing OBE or Cache file, can you put step by step instructions on please Andaleeb ?

Elements 12 is COMPLETELY different in this regard from PSE 10.

PSE 10 is not like PSE 12 and 13! You don't have to sign in to use the program.

Ok, thanks. Seems odd that you have the Log In button there and when you click it, it locks up your program and you have to force it closed. I guess just knowing it's useless helps.
