disable the selectable property of your textfield either in the authoring environment or with actionscript.

You've posted in the ActionScript forum, so I'll give you the
ActionScript answer first. Theck out the TextField class entry of the
ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference, and you'll see a selectable property in
the Property Summary. Bingo. :)
You can also toggle this setting in the Property inspector for any
selected text field.
